Available at Walshplant.ie, the Oregon Yukon Type A protective trousers are a solid, no-nonsense choice for anyone running a chainsaw regularly, from farmers and landowners clearing timber to contractors cutting firewood. They're certified to EN ISO 11393-2 Class 1 (20m/s) and carry KWF approval, the German forestry standard that a lot of professional cutters look for.
Five layers of cut protection
Inside the front of each leg are five layers of protective material designed to snag and clog the chain on contact. As Type A trousers, the protection covers the front of the legs, which is where most chainsaw contact happens during normal felling and cross-cutting.
Built to move
The outer is a hard-wearing 2-way stretch bi-elastic polyester that lets you kneel, climb and step over brash without fighting the fabric. It also stands up to petrol, chain oil and heat, so they won't break down from the usual mess of a day's cutting.

If you're between sizes, go up a size. Protective trousers need a bit of room to move freely, and a tight fit can pull the protective layers out of position. Braces are recommended to keep them sitting correctly.
