Warranty Information

Walshplant.ie is based in the Republic of Ireland and is an authorised stockist of genuine tools, machinery and workwear from all of the leading brands — including DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, Stihl, Husqvarna, Bosch, Leatherman, Knipex, Bahco, Stanley, Fluke, Portwest, Snickers, ToughBuilt, Paslode, Pramac, Hyundai and more. Every product we sell is backed by the relevant manufacturer's own warranty, and this page sets out how long that cover typically lasts and what to do if you need to use it.

Your Statutory Rights Are Not Affected

Nothing on this page, and no manufacturer warranty, limits or replaces the legal rights you have as a consumer in the Republic of Ireland — including your rights under the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980 and the European Union (Consumer Sales of Goods and Associated Guarantees) Regulations, which require goods to be of merchantable quality, fit for purpose and as described.

If a product develops a fault, you're always entitled to fall back on these statutory rights in addition to (never instead of) any manufacturer warranty below — regardless of what a warranty card, box, or manufacturer website says. If you're a business customer buying for trade, hire or commercial use, different terms and shorter cover periods can apply — see the relevant brand's commercial/trade terms below, or contact us and we'll clarify.

Warranty terms are set and can be changed by each manufacturer at any time. Where the table above and the manufacturer's current published terms differ, the manufacturer's terms apply.

What's Generally Covered

  • Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship
  • Premature mechanical or electrical failure under normal use
  • Faults present at the time of delivery

What's Generally Not Covered

  • Normal wear and tear, and consumable parts (batteries, blades, belts, chains, cutting discs, filters, etc.)
  • Damage from misuse, accident, neglect, or unauthorised repair/modification
  • Use outside the manufacturer's intended purpose (e.g. commercial or hire use of a DIY-rated tool)
  • Products with the serial number removed or altered
  • Lack of routine maintenance where required by the manufacturer

What We Do

  1. We only sell genuine, manufacturer-supplied stock, so every purchase from Walshplant.ie is eligible for the full warranty cover offered by that brand.
  2. We keep a record of your order, so your Walshplant.ie order confirmation or receipt serves as your proof of purchase — you don't need to store anything separately, though we'd still recommend keeping the box and paperwork.
  3. We flag registration where it matters. For brands like DeWalt, Milwaukee and Makita where extended cover depends on registering online shortly after purchase, we'll point this out so you don't miss the window.
  4. We're your first point of contact. If something develops a fault, contact our team with your order number, the product name/model, and a description (and photos, if possible) of the issue. We'll confirm whether it's dealt with directly through us or routed to the manufacturer's authorised service network, and we'll guide you through whichever applies.
  5. We stand over your statutory rights. If a manufacturer warranty doesn't cover your situation, we'll still work with you on your rights under Irish and EU consumer law as outlined above.

Making a Warranty Claim

  1. Keep your proof of purchase — your Walshplant.ie order confirmation or receipt.
  2. Register your product where required — check the paperwork in the box or the brand's website for a registration window (commonly 28–30 days from purchase).
  3. Contact us (If you need help) with your order number, product name/model and a description of the fault.
  4. We'll direct you to the right next step — repair or replacement through us, or via the manufacturer's authorised service centre — and help however we can along the way.

Questions?

If you're unsure what warranty applies to a product you've bought or are about to buy, contact our team before purchasing and we'll confirm the exact terms for that specific item.
