The DHY18COM-1 is a powerful single-phase diesel generator from Hyundai, ideal for providing homes and businesses with reliable prime power or backup power when the national grid lets you down. This high-quality diesel genset produces up to 22.5kVA while staying compact — considerably smaller than other water-cooled 1500rpm 18kW sets — making it a strong choice where space is limited but full backup or prime power is still needed.

Powered by a 4-stroke, 4-cylinder, water-cooled Hyundai 4DW91-29D diesel engine, it delivers up to 22kVA / 18kW backup power and 20kVA / 16kW prime power. Running at 1500rpm, the engine is less stressed than 3000rpm alternatives, making it a strong option for daily prime power use as well as standby/backup duty, with a longer lifespan as a result.

Fitted with an AVR alternator, the DHY18COM-1 is suitable for powering sensitive electronic equipment such as TVs, games consoles, computers and laptops. It's also ATS compatible, so it can be paired with an Automatic Transfer Switch to start automatically during a power cut and shut down safely once mains power returns — ideal for anyone needing guaranteed constant power, such as for servers or refrigeration.

The generator is fitted with a high-quality Deep Sea Electronics DSE6120 MKIII control panel with a large LCD screen for clear, concise monitoring. It supports remote start, an easily accessible emergency stop button, voltage and frequency regulation, and alerts for low oil pressure, high water temperature, and high/low voltage or frequency.

Diesel generators are ideal for backup applications, as petrol can go stale and prevent a generator from starting. This unit also runs on budget-friendly red diesel without voiding the warranty, keeping running costs down.
